Nakia’s 12 Days of Christmas: Day 2 Holiday Appetizer

In Uncategorized by Nakia Lawrence6 Comments

Who knew taking 3 easy ingredients would tastes so delicious! Cranberry brie bites our definitely a holiday favorite and makes for a great go too plated appetizer. It was just two years ago when I took my first bite into one of these mouth watering treats now I make sure I share the recipe with anyone I can. So weather you use canned cranberry sauce or fresh berries you’re sure to come out with a delightful snack.

So let’s get started
They only cooking supplies you’ll need is a muffin pan and a pizza cutter

-This would be the time you preheat your oven to 425-

The ingredients are simple:
Puff Pastry
Brie Cheese
Cranberry Sauce

I normally use a muffin pan and cut my pastry into squares to fit. Now for measurement purposes I suggest you cut your squares to around 2.3-2.5 inches so it fits and has your desired look when finished.

Step 1: Lay our your pastry dough on top of a cutting board and use a pizza cutter to cut the squares.
Take your time and gracefully press each of the squares into the openings of the muffin pan so when finish it creates somewhat of a cup form so they form or bowl.

Step 2: Take your Brie and cut it into 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch chunks. Then place each cube of cheese in each bowl shape of the pastry cups in your muffin pan.

Step 3: Now the easiest way is to use cranberry sauce but again you are more then welcome to use fresh or dried cranberries too. So take whatever form of cranberries you plan to use and coat it on top of your brie. It only takes about 1 teaspoon giving you just enough topping for your pastry.

Step 4: It’s time to bake your cranberry bites at 425 for about 10 minutes. Depending on the brand of puff pastry you get you can also take them out around 7 or 8 minutes. So keep a look out on your treats if they start to appear golden brown then it’s ready.

I made a few pans myself and less just say the first two try’s weren’t so desirable lol. I over cooked the first batch and the second pan could have shown more flakiness.

It’s amazing how you can take just 3 effortless ingredients and come up with a ravishing dish in less than 30 minutes. It’s always a hot a holiday parties so I can’t wait to hear how it turns out for my lovies!!!

If you have a favorite appetizer or holiday party dish you’d like to share make sure to leave it in the comments I can’t wait to hear what you all come up with.
